Art Institute – Culinary Arts Program (329 words)

The Culinary Arts Program at the Art Institute is designed to prepare students for a wide variety of jobs in the culinary industry.  In this program, you’ll get the practical experience you need to find entry-level employment as a chef, line cook or pastry chef in a number of different restaurants or cafes.  Students in this program will learn to prepare food quickly and in large quantities, while still maintaining the quality of the overall dish.  In addition to food preparation, areas of study will also include kitchen management, nutrition, menu management, and cost control.

This program is designed to put students on the path to becoming full chefs, and leads to the completion of an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts.  A diploma program in Culinary Arts is also available for students who are interested in obtaining a brief overview of the field.  In addition, for those students that want to continue on to earn their Bachelor of Science degrees, the Art Institute offers this option in Culinary Management.

The Art Institute’s Culinary Arts program is conducted in a classroom student, with ample time spent in the kitchen working hands on to learn the latest techniques in the culinary arts field.  Although this program doesn’t offer the flexibility of entirely online learning, with over 30 locations in the United States, including Las Vegas, Kansas City, MO, and Chicago, IL, this program is accessible to just about anyone.

Perhaps best of all, the Art Institute realizes that students lead very hectic lives, so you’ll find a number of options for learning, including classroom instruction, online classes, flexible weekend classes, and even the opportunity to study abroad.  In addition, the Art Institute offers its students assistance in finding employment upon graduation.  You’ll find classes on entering – or re-entering – the workforce.  Because of this commitment to their students, graduates of the Art Institute’s programs are now employed at many of largest companies around the world.
